Taking Chiropractic Care To The Next Level
Most anatomical and physiological systems in our bodies have a range that is considered clinically normal. From blood pressure to thyroid levels, heart rate to your A1C, your spine also has a normal. At Elite Chiropractic, our focus is structural correction aimed at moving you towards an acceptable normal and helping your body to heal without the need for drugs or unnecessary surgeries. It is our focus and goal to get you back to living a normal life without pain and letting your body heal itself and we can provide these services to the Wenatchee Valley.
Our Approach to Chiropractic Care – Structural vs. Traditional Chiropractic
Traditional chiropractic’s primary goals are to decrease muscle spasms, increasing range of motion, and reducing pain. These are all fantastic things, and most chiropractors are excellent at accomplishing these goals. With this being said, this falls under the umbrella of symptom relief or management.
Now, imagine that you buy a “fixer-upper” in hopes of turning it into your dream home. There are pervasive cracks in the drywall, the floorboards creak, and doors don’t seem to shut correctly. This would be indicative of a faulty foundation. You could just paint over the cracks and put a few extra nails in the floorboards or replace the door. However, none of those options would fix the problem in the foundation and will lead to the same issues with the house down the road. Now compare this to your spine. If the structure of your spine is faulty, it can lead to a host of other issues. You can address those issues over and over again or look to the root of the problem.
Understanding Structural Shifts
As mentioned earlier, your spine has an accepted normal. When your spine deviates from its normal state, it is called a “structural shift.” These shifts can put undue stress on ligaments, muscles, discs, and other tissues. Our goal at Elite Chiropractic is to find, correct these shifts, and help you on the road to recovery. When left uncorrected, structural shifts cause what are called “secondary conditions.”
What Are Secondary Conditions?
Traditionally called “symptoms,” secondary conditions are just as they sound, secondary to a more significant issue. Think of them as your body’s warning signs that an underlying condition is present. A structural exam allows us to locate where your shifts are to start focusing on them, the primary problem. Some secondary conditions include;
- Degenerative Disc Disease
- Degenerative Joint Disease
- Decreased Range of Motion
- Radiating Pain into the Extremities
- Low Back Pain
- Numbness/Tingling
- Muscle Tension/Spasm
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Neck Pain
- Sciatica
- Disc Bulges/Herniation
Preparing For Chiropractic Care
Your initial consultation will include a meeting with one of our Doctor, Chad Findlay DC. During the consultation, we will discuss your unique health history and determine the best treatment options. For most patients, we will provide in-office treatments and provide information for at-home treatments and modalities you can implement to help the healing process. We will discuss if we need to move forward with other diagnostic processes that consist of digital motion analysis, a neuromuscular strength assessment, and structural radiographs.
Why Choose Elite Chiropractic?
Ultimately our goal is to move your spine closer to clinically normal as it will allow for decreased pressure and stress on your ligaments, discs, tendons, and nerves. Our treatments options will address the shifts in your spine, and therefore the secondary conditions associated with the shift, and we will make recommendations to maintain and compliment your corrections.
